U Rijadu, u Saudijskoj Arabiji, 24. avgusta je održana posebna ceremonija Esports Decade Awards, posvećena obeležavanju deset godina najvećih dostignuća u svetu esporta.
Esports Decade Awards je održan u sklopu Esports World Cup-a i privukao je globalnu pažnju, okupljajući najuticajnije igrače, timove i organizacije koji su oblikovali esport scenu u protekloj deceniji. Prema podacima organizatora, fanovi su poslali skoro 9,8 miliona glasova.
Veliki deo nagrada pripao je Riot Games-u i League of Legends ekosistemu – čak šest od ukupno 14 priznanja. Najviše pažnje privukla je nagrada za Esports PC Player of the Decade, koju je očekivano poneo Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, kao jedan od najuspešnijih esportista svih vremena.
